I recently joined ACTHA and have been to one ACTHA ride. I had a wonderful time, got to visit with friends and my horse did better than I expected on the obstacles. I wanted to make an observation though – I understand why the ride fees are rather high since there are so many (great) awards – but I really feel that the fee to be a buddy rider is too high. In my opinion, having a more reasonable fee for the buddy rider division would encourage more people to come out to a ride and see what it’s all about. I have many friends I have tried to get to come – but the initial cost is too high for them. It sure would be easier to get them to see how much fun these events are – if I can actually talk them into coming. I’m hoping you will forward this suggestion to ACTHA.
